Third Child

My grandpa served the Lord's army
Traveled the world to speak and preach
My grandma gave up all her dreams
To stay at home and raise the family

My dad worked fingers to the bone
Building a church and saving souls
My mom beside him all the way
Teaching us kids to sing and pray

I was born youngest of three
To a family called to preach

Was never made to wanna stay
I was born to run away

I watched my brother hear the call
To serve the Lord, surrender all
I watched my sister break her back
Bending over picking up my slack

I watched my life's pages turn
Stories of love and lessons learned
I prayed to God I'd find my song
And the place where I belong

I was born youngest of three
To a family called to preach

Was never made to wanna stay
I was born to run away

20 years old I found my home
In a van with a band and the open road
And I swore I was a rolling stone
But the van broke down and the band broke up
And I spent some time just feeling stuck
And Lord knows my heart was cold
Til I met a girl with an anchored soul
She warmed my heart and she let me know
That I was never gonna be alone
She is the song that I'll always sing
And wherever I go she'll always be my home...

I was born chasing the sun
I'm coming home when it's coming up
Was never made to wanna stay
I was born to run away

I was born youngest of three
To a family called to preach
Was never made to wanna stay
I was born to run away
